There are only two ways to live a life. One is a though nothing is a miracle. The other is a though everything is a miracle.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
Aristotle

Broke my heart down the road. Spent the weekend sewing the pieces back on. Crayons and dolls pass me by, walking gets too boring when you learn how to fly.

There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. So love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living.

Today is my birthday!

One of the congrats I got included following story:

One night President Obama and his wife Michelle decided to do something out of routine and go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn't too luxurious.

When they were seated, the owner of the restaurant asked the president's secret service if he could please speak to the First Lady in private.

They obliged and Michelle had a conversation with the owner.

Following this conversation President Obama asked Michelle, "Why was he so interested in talking to you."

She mentioned that in her teenage years, he had been madly in love with her.

President Obama then said, "So if you had married him, you would now be the owner of this lovely restaurant."

To which Michelle responded, "No. If I had married him, he would now be the President."

So what is the conclusion?

If a man wants to become a president he should marry the right woman :)

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."

"Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them."

"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."

"You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late."

"Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow."

"Every wall is a door."

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

We make tools for these kinds of people.

While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

I want to declare to the world, although I have forfeited the regard of many friends in the West - and I must bow my head low; but even for their friendship or love, I must not suppress the voice of conscience, - the promptings of my inner basic nature today.

There is something within me impelling me to cry out my agony.

I have known humanity.

I have studied something of psychology.

Such a man knows exactly what it is.

I do not mind how you describe it.

That voice within tells me,
"You have to stand against the whole world although you may have to stand alone. You have to stare in the face the whole world although the world may look at you with blood-shot eyes. Do not fear. Trust the little voice residing within your heart."

It says:
"Forsake friends, wife and all; but testify to that for which you have lived and for which you have to die.

Mahatma Gandhi

Isamaa ilu hoieldes

Isamaa Ilu Hoieldes,
vaenlase vastu võideldes:
pane tähele, pane tähele,
pane tähele, pane tähele!

Kui sina usud endasse,
arukate arvamisse,
tugevate turjadesse,
vanemate vägevusse,
noorte meeste nobedusse,
õdedesse, vendadesse,
enne kõike endasse,
siis saad põlve parema.

Kui sina usud hundi juttu,
kardad koerte klähvimisi,
kuulad sakste sajatusi,
kannupoiste kaebamisi,
saamameeste salvamisi,
madalate manitsusi,
sõgedate sõitlemisi,
siis ei saa sa midagi.

Kui sina vajud valedesse,
upakile unedesse,
käpakile käsu alla,
röötsakile rubla alla,
siis saad kirbud kubemesse,
sügelised südamesse,
päised pähe, kondid kõhtu,
siis sa lähed põrgusse.

Kui sina usud endasse,
siis sina usud rahvaasse,
taludesse tarkusesse,
õpetusse, õigusesse,
kodukoha kaasikusse,
pilvepiiril pääsukesse,
siis saad vaimu vägeva,
siis saad põlve parema.
